The place was spotless with a really friendly and accommodating stuff on their kindness and exceptional service provided. Really enjoyed my beautifully maintained room with comfy beds, rain shower, as example. The location was great and brilliant and easy to travel to a national park and a sanctuary near the hotel. The pool was nice and I had cool drinks in the poolside bar.

its situation, right in the wilderness, with access to the world.
The desk was very slow in handling guests. Their system for accepting an Amex card didn't work

Without a doubt its a nice resort. The rooms were very nice and clean and comfortable (there was no mosquito net over the childrens single bed however and my son was bitten alot!). The wildlife was also amazing.
The staff continuously asked us if we were going to be eating the buffet dinner (which was obviously more expensive than eating in the pool bar where the food was way cheaper but still very nice). We were really sick of being asked if we were going to eat the buffet every 5 minutes. The kids bed in the room had no mosquito net and my son was bitten about 30 times one night. The pool was absolutely disgusting. It was dark green (probably with algae). We have our own pool at home so we understand how to keep a pool. The pool pumping wasn't work and when we questioned the staff they told us the colour of the pool was supposed to be like that because of the green tiles (however you couldn't see to the bottom to see the tiles). It is an absolute hazard for kids. You would NEVER see a kid on the bottom of the pool. Finally, the thing I found most disgusting about the hotel was that we wanted to invite our Sri Lankan driver to have dinner with us to thank him for taking care of us during our trip around the island. He was quite a young man but was very nice and always very polite and helpful. We were just about to order his dinner when the waiter told us that drivers are not allowed to eat with guests. I spoke to the manager of the hotel who confirmed my fears that they infact feel that inviting a sri lankan driver would upset hotel guests. I was absolutely horrified that they would treat one of their own people like this and I could only compare it with the days of apartheid. Were were absolutely disgusted. The drivers rooms are basic to say the least (4 bunk beds in one room, no light, no aircon and they are given rice).

The design of the hotel fit well with the nature preserve. The bungalows were very comfortable and clean and had a nice patio.
The road into the hotel takes a full 30 to 35 minutes to travel and is completely rutted and full of potholes. Despite it being a natural setting, there is no excuse for not maintaining the road properly. The pool while we were there was green in color and you could not see the bottom. They did not offer any explanation other than that it had recently rained. Service at the hotel was dreadful, there is apparently no training of employees and the personnel exhibit minimal motiviation.

It was hardly difficult to like this really beautiful place.
To leave for the next destination which by the way was also incredibly beautiful.

The location for use of Yala national parkis great. It overlooks the park, a lake 20 meters away is there with Buffalo, and crocodiles. Monkeys, mono Lizards and Elephants are walking around the resort it is spectacular. Prices for lunch, drinks are reasonable too for saying it is a hideaway with nothing surrounding you.
The only downside is that things close early, bar closes at 10.00 that is early for me. Also there is no room service facility

Our stay was very enjoyable. The service by the staff was friendly and efficient, and the food absolutely excellent. I would unhesitatingly recommend staying at Chaaya Yala Wild Village to anyone but I feel that the charge of $225 per room was excessive. I found that most people staying there mid week were playing only $110 to $125. I am very unhappy with this and will be reluctant to ever book through Booked.net again. Thank you, David Schokman.

This spot is very nice for families! The kids loved seeing wildlife right outside our jungle chalet, including wild boars and dozens of birds. The food was varied and delicious, especially the buffet. Reaching the hotel was tricky due to the poor access road, and I wish there were better lighting on the walking paths. It was a nice experience, and we really appreciated the warm hospitality of the staff.

The resort has excellent location 5 minutes from the main entrance to Yala National Park. It is beautifully designed, very new and feels luxurious in the middle of wildlife. The best part was the great noise coming from surrounding nature from all the animals which live in the resort too. Meeting monkeys in the morning on the way to breakfast was just amazing. The resort staff is very helpful and kind. Overall experience was excellent and I would recommend this place to anyone who plans to visit Yala.
